GT4™ timing belts are the further development of the GT3™ timing belts ordered so far, cf. the Gates manufacturer’s declaration of 21.02.2021, available here and in our download area.
The Gates® PowerGrip™ GT4™ was developed with state-of-the-art technology and material science know-how and replaces the previous GT3 timing belts in the pitches 8M & 14M.
The main difference to the previous GT3 timing belts is the use of an innovative ethylene-elastomer mixture (EPDM) which - in contrast to the previously used material component chloroprene - will also be available in sufficient quantities as a raw material in the long term.
Of course, the Powergrip GT4 timing belts are also available in the previous belt lengths and application-optimised versions.
An optimum belt selection can never be made across the board; it must be based on the individual requirements of the application in question. If a specific drive belt that is adapted perfectly to the timing belt pulley is selected, the efficiency of both the timing belt drive and the entire drive train is improved.
